He never participated in combat. He received no combat related medals. He never claimed to be a combat veteran, even though his mom did portray him in that light.

I'm not saying that his time in Iraq was stress free but IMHO, his parents are using his military service to explain his issues, and maybe they should start looking at their home and family dynamics, instead.

People I know name their children after a beloved family member, friend, or someone they may not know personally but whom they admire.
Not one of their brood was named after a family member, friend, or an admirable person. They were named after a sport, a plane, a place, etc.
I wonder whether the parents have any real emotional connections with anyone or are capable of feeling admiration for anyone. Their kids are fucked up because the parents are emotionally dead.

Todd Palin had told him not to come to the home because Track Palin had been drinking and taking pain medication, according to the affidavit and charging documents.

Sarah Palin called police at 8:30 p.m. and said her son was “freaking out and was on some type of medication.”

But, he didn't use it...my daughter went through a deep depression a couple of years ago. She was not violent towards others only herself. We almost lost her...She spend some time in hospital. It has been a hard couple of years as our mental health infrastructure is horrible. She is doing better and seems to have turned a corner. She is back in school and made Dean's list this year; It cost thousands...I know the Palins can afford to care for their kid if they have the will but what about others who can't? I believe the heroin epidemic and drugs in general have much to do with self -medication.

Todd has been target of his violence for some time. The brawl at the party: police report states he was trying to pick a fight with his dad and was swinging at him. Books in Palin family discuss his attempts to fight his dad.

This will not end well if they can't keep Track away from Todd. God help Piper and Trig.

I have four kids and have had one with serious depression issues...raised in the same house...same schools and same values...three are fine...and the one has struggled. She is doing great now but I will always worry. It is like night and day, one day they are fine...and then it is like a switch flipped and the person you love and have known for years is a stranger...you wonder if you they will ever come back...my daughter is alive, and lately I see the same child I raised looking back...so I am lucky but not everyone is so lucky...it was a two year, difficult journey.

not necessary for a person to have depression. The Palins might be that too, but even so a person can be depressed. I have had some of that myself, and was raised in a good family.
