correct me if Im wrong and way off base, but I get a sense that congressional democrats are

saying not all that much against the rapacious tax bill to be voted on soon. I consume enough news to be generally aware of trends and issues, sometimes not in enough detail, but nonetheless I can’t help but feel like the dems are holding back. I hope it’s for the right reasons. Something along the lines of, as Admiral Akbar would exclaim, “it’s a trap”.

What happened to republican claims of fiscal responsibility? What happened to the idea that all spending and tax cuts had to offset? And perhaps most importantly, what happened to doing what’s in the nations best interest?

Instead we are getting a suspiciously self serving and record setting bilking of the American middle class. All these cash handouts to the rich and their congressional handmaidens will have to be paid for by the middle and lower class worker.

The personal enrichment of congressional Republicans via this tax bill should warrant some sense of shame and outrage. Corker and trump are about to see windfalls seldom acknowledged and seemingly just fine with everyone, nothing to see here, move along please.

One and a half TRILLION dollars, not to worry though you can afford it can’t you?

one could say it makes a bit of sense for the media not to be overly focused on what the out-of-power party has to say, but then that's never remotely true when republicans are the out-of-power party....

The Democrats, particularly Senate Democrats just 3 votes away from success, have been rather docile on the tax bill, saying it will be bad, but also saying the R's will "pay for it" in 2018.

It's like they have rolled over and let them have this while keeping their guns in their holsters!

If this were Republicans, they would have threatened government shutdown, all spending bills, all consideration of raising debt limits, all further legislation, even Christmas holiday, whatever it took to shut down any victory for THAT president!

They said they would be blamed - if they took extreme actions.

Just like the R's - who now have the Presidency and both Houses of Congress. We call that accountability and consequences?
