the opposite?
This tax scam which he says will greatly benefit the middle class is a perfect example of that.

(17,863 posts)red states are going to see federal taxes go down some.
For them that is all that counts. I know mine are going down over $2K/yr. I know the wider implications of how this tax cut is a bad idea, but in the end they are going to run on look at your pay stub - you are taking more home.

(4,516 posts)My wife has a similar problem but not with politics. Her biological father was a abusing alcoholic. He would go into a rage and beat up my wife's mother and older brother and sister. The way she coped was that her older sister would hide her from her dad during those times. My wife was very young at the time. She put the beatings out of her mind at the time because she didn't see them.
So now if there is something that she can't deal with such as kitty hair ball throw up she puts a paper towel over it so she doesn't have to see it. She did that last night. She puts it out of her mind.
The other way she copes is that if reality is too hard to deal with she dismisses it from her mind as if it never existed in the first place. When she does this it is freaky because she can't even recall the reality just as if it didn't happen.
I think Trump's hard core faux news believers do the same thing. They just do not accept reality and dismisses it from their minds. They also supplant it with the faux news propaganda. Much like in Germany during WWII.

(2,091 posts)But it is easy. They believe the cult of personality that is Trump. When they run into any information that challenges their perceptions of him.....they pass it off as "fake news".

(15,222 posts)They're all too much like Trump. Too full of themselves to think that anyone else might be smarter, more accurate, more informed, etc.
By continuing to back Trump, they are feeding their own willful ignorance. They will make an excuse for anything that he says or does.
Very simply put, we must outnumber them. We cannot expect the deplorables to ever be sensible, logical or thoughtful Ramrod past them; it's the only way!!!

(578 posts)they realize this tax bill is a failure within a few years they will just blame the failure on the Dems. I guarantee you in a few years if the economy goes down the shitter they will say that Trump was an actual democract much like they said Bush was a democrat after the '08 recession.
