Tax bill insanity

I don't know where to begin with trying to understand this whole thing. The underlying principal, at least as the republicans are pitching it, is that tax breaks to the folks at the top will allow for new jobs to be created. The question I'd love an answer to is why would they do that?

It goes against the very premise of how business is supposed to operate and the backbone of free market capitalism; supply and demand. Without demand there is no reason to increase supply. In this case, I mean creating more jobs when there is no more extra work to be done.

Joe/Jane factory owner isnt't going to just hire more people because he has the extra money to do so. Joe factory owner has never done that. What Joe/Jane factory owner has done. and will continue to do, is try to get more work out of his existing workers. A non-tangible increase in demand isn't going to result in adding jobs or increasing raises. The only thing its going to do is pad Joe/Jane factory owners' pocket.

The only thing that "will" get Joe/Jane factory owner to hire more people is an increase in demand for said products and services. Now,
unless I'm mistaken it's the 99% of us create the real demand goods and services in this country. Not only do we get nothing from this "Tax Bill" but it's being actively taken away from us.

First off the health care industry is going to lose jobs as fewer people have access to healthcare, again. They are going to "eventually" find new jobs, maybe, but how many of them will probably be worse paying with less stability? That's going to affect grocers and big box stores and whoever else. It's going to go right on up the line industry by industry. With each step along the way resulting in jobs being shed for the sake of efficiency.

Take the above example and multiply it by all the folks they want to kick off medicare, medicaid, social security, snap, disability, etc, etc.
That's going to put big hit on the bottom line of retailers like Walmart, Target and so on. As demand drops we return to the example from the previous paragraph. Jobs will be shed, buying power reduced, and on and on and on and on. There is no such thing as an altruistic business owner, that's just not how it works.

I know I say this fairly often, but I don't know alot about alot but the fact these men and women in congress are willing to push this on the American people and tell us that it's going to create jobs. To go about it with unabated zeal and confidence blows my mind.

These people were elected to serve their country. It's their job to be there and make "informed" decisions about the direction of the country. This isn't informed..... this isn't a new idea... Anybody that can 2+2 can see this tax bill is blatantly awful beyond measure. If this thing goes down you can guarantee that the only people being served today are themselves, the 1%

the tax cut.
If they haven't now, they won't with even more money in their coffers.

The only reason they create jobs at all is if they have more demand for their goods and their present work force can produce.

The only reason they raise wages is if they can't get workers at the rate they pay now.

These are 2 truths. What the republicans are selling is a bill of goods..just like they always do.

Every time they cut snap/food benefits there are big dips in the profits for retailers. No demand, no new jobs. Less demand and jobs are shed. Somebody mentioned it earlier in a post, but the end game may just be to create a glut of workers willing to underbid each other for any job available. Irregardless of pay, benefits or otherwise.

the Reagan years, and it was a magnificent failure, and not only did the federal budget deficit to soar, those promised jobs never materialized. Some may recall that David Stockman resigned because of Reagan's proposed tax cuts, because he realized it was smoke and mirrors.

As for jobs, jobs are created when a demand for a companies products or services increase, not because of tax cuts.

Kansas and Oklahoma tried a ergonomics scheme at the state level, and the only thing it accomplished was increased bonuses for top executives. Jobs were not created

But they have done no such thing for 100 years. All they service is their rich Republican donors and corporate masters.

They exist to provide ROI to wealthy republican donors, who desire a complete dismantling of the social safety net. They imagine a return to the gilded age, or even to the days of slavery, just with slaves of all races.

Donors contribute to lawmaker’s campaigns, lawmakers serve the donor’s interest, and legislate to return the donor’s campaign donation/investment straight outta the Treasury!

Sweet deal, right? Win/win for them!

Loss for everyone else.

Now is the time to raise taxes on the rich, not cut them.
