Find people who could explain in a few sentences how they almost didn't vote. Either they were very busy with life, or they were depressed, or they simply thought their vote wouldn't count anyways...but they scraped themselves up and went down and cast a ballot anyways. That democracy mattered enough, even if it was just enough, for them to make the effort. And of course getting their reaction to finding out their candidate won by one vote.

and judges, attack the dems, and lie about and distort the facts

all the rw radio stations will ‘address’ this, the same way they did the florida recount in 2000 and every other major recount.

in VA 6 limbaugh stations that i’m pretty sure are screaming for a recount would lose many of their advertisers if students at uni of virginia and VT pushed their schools to start looking for apolitical alternatives to broadcast sports on.

from republiconradio.org
VIRGINIA 6 Virginia Tech 5, Virginia 1

protests to get the school logos off radio stations that are screaming to put another public school-defunding republican on the legislature should be a no-brainer. and they would get immediate outrage from the GOP and those stations and media would notice. losing those stations would be a huge blow to the GOP and would help local official keep this right.

"Power sharing in the House of Delegates is an awkward exercise. Committee chairs have to be negotiated as does the person who will serve as Speaker. With the parties split 50-50, there is no mechanism to break ties and any legislation short of 51 votes does not advance. Republicans hold a slight 21-19 edge in the state senate but with a Democratic lieutenant governor to break ties, and a Democratic governor with veto power, Republicans may be forced to advance a more bipartisan agenda."

There is no tie breaking mechanism for the VA House of Delegates and the repubs still control the state senate.

Getting rid of gerrymandering would require the Democrats to control the House (we don't) and the senate (we don't). We can block repub legislation but the repubs can block our bills, too.

On recount an absentee was sent in with a write-in with one name which was already on the ballot, it was tossed. The incumbent lost to the other since he ran on the other parties ticket after losing their endorsement. One vote.
