Target 14 California House Republicans in 2018; 7 are very vulnerable

Just three of the 14 California House Republicans went against leadership on tax bill, the rest voted YES on bill but many were very reluctant to do so. Recent poll showed only 20% of Californians said they thought the $1.5-trillion plan would have a positive effect on their lives.

Basically we need to target all 14 of them, but 7 are particularly vulnerable. So adopt one of the challengers to these GOP members from CA or more than one. Follow them, contribute if you can, urge others to do so, pump them up on DU.

Representative District Tax Bill Vote
Doug LaMalfa 1 Yes
Tom McClintock 4 No
Paul Cook 8 Yes
Jeffrey Denham 10 Yes* (R-Turlock) (2016 challenger Michael Eggman lost by less than 5%)
David Valadao 21 Yes* (R-Hanford) (District voted for Clinton over Trump by double-digit margins)
Devin Nunes 22 Yes
Kevin McCarthy 23 Yes
Steve Knight 25 Yes (R-Palmdale)
Edward Royce 39 Yes (R-Fullerton)
Ken Calvert 42 Yes
Mimi Walters 45 Yes (R-Irvine)
Dana Rohrabacher 48 No (R-Costa Mesa)
Darrell Issa 49 No (R-Vista) (considered THE most vulnerable House GOP in 2018) (2016 Dem challenger Doug
Applegate running again, lost 49 to 51 in 2016; also Mike Levin running as Dem)
Duncan Hunter 50 Yes

*7 most vulnerable congressional seats held by California Republicans for 2018 midterm elections. Represent districts carried by HRC in 2016, with . Issa and Denham won by the closest margins of the group, with Issa eking out a 51-49 win over Doug Applegate, who has already said he'll run again in 2018 . Denham overcame two-time challenger Michael Eggman by less than five percentage points." (from LA Times)

"Denham, Issa and Valadao were also among the top spenders in California on a per-vote basis in the November election, spending well above $30 per each vote they received."

Democrats are targeting 61 Republicans to unseat nationwide, 7 are Californians. Will most more about other GOP members in separate posts.

2. Dana Rohrabacher's going to prison. Darrell Issa's a cooked goose.

Kevin MCarthy -- he's the guy that was wearing the wire at the meeting with Ryan where they 'jokingly' swore everyone to obstruction of justice silence.

Tom McClintock -- I'd love to see that Heart Of Evil fall. Worst of the worst. Sat next to him on a plane once. He's clearly a sociopath. Serious Soul Stink.

Russian bribery of American congresspersons is illegal unless Republicans are involved.

That is the current state of affairs. Which may change any moment.

7. Bribery of elected officials is obviously legal in the US

I assume you are alleging some sort of Russian funded campaign contribution. If Rohrabacher knew the funds came from Russians I guess that is a campaign violation. I really doubt anyone can prove that. And if it is proven does he pay a fine or what.

I think Rohrabacher is more weird than corrupt.

Weird or not, illegal or not, traitor to the United States of America.

11. Ok. But that kind of treason is not illegal. He will not go to jail for it.

Look I agree he has put Russian interests above the interests of the US. I just don’t think he will go to jail.

Perhaps in a similar light the great one Preet Bharara recently warned liberals that Mueller is not our savior. That he is just a lawman. I guess Preet thinks Mueller may not charge Trump with a crime. I guess that is something Preet thinks we must be prepared for. Not all sins are crimes.

Dana loses his job, not his freedom, imo.

10. They're feeling highly vulnerable if they let McClintock vote no.

Note to self: toss his inevitable crazy right wing primary challenger a couple bucks.
