(31,121 posts)Americans, many who have to work two jobs, who will say even if the tax bill hurts them to help the rich, that is OK because that is what is fair.
You see, we cant beat that line of thinking.
Not until they are homeless and even then not sure it will change. Wont have to wait long to find out, we are on a fast trak to such a situation.

(12,674 posts)If one prefers to believe that s/he is part a hereditary/genetic elite that should rightfully rule over all others - that it's all about them or their "class" or "race", then one has no issues with lying - especially since s/he is already lying to herself or himself.
We're all just humans in a big universe that crosses billions, if not trillions or quadrillions of years. And I'm not even thinking about alternate or other universes.
The folks that are lying to themselves for their own profit (right, left, or third party), have walled themselves off into hundreds of thousands of small alternate realities that begin when they were born, and will end when they die. Unfortunately, they're still living in the real world with the rest of us, so their avoidance of reality will have negative impact on everything they may end up interacting with - and they will refuse to deal with reality to their own death, if need be.
