What's this tax code bill really all about? The First Class passengers of the GOP Titanic knew they'd hit a giant, orange iceberg the day Donald Trump was elected, and had only a short time to LOOT the ship before it went down. This tax bill gives them just enough time to steal the silverware and the gold fixtures before they shove the women and children out of the way, jump into the lifeboats, and head for tax havens in the Bahamas. In fact, they've already sent a few of the kids scurrying in the other direction, by prying open the ship's candy store, and telling them there was free candy to be had. That's basically what the piffling $100 middle class tax cut, which is set to expire after they're gone is.
For the last 15 years the GOP has been funded almost entirely by billionaire plutocrats. Now they're CASHING OUT. Literally. They want their investment back. That's all it was to them, a simple transactional investment. They had no philosophical attachment to a bunch of tacky rodeo clowns, waving guns in one hand and bibles in the other. They weren't listening to them blather, hypocritically, about 'family values' while they were throwing orgies in their penthouses. They were simply willing to pay to let these spineless hypocrites keep their little Congressional expense accounts, as long as they got huge tax breaks in return. For every dollar they invested buying election adds for some tawdry used car salesman in Ohio, they easily got ten dollars back in tax and regulation cuts.
But that racket appears to have run its course. By having their imps in Congress pass a Tax Code that is so obviously tailored to billionaires (with a few trinkets designed to distract the simple minded, who also happen to be heavily armed), they've made it clear that they believe the GOP is finally finished. It's been a zombie for a decade, running on empty catch-phrases ("...cut taxes...eat brains...cut taxes...eat brains), but this time it's about to fall apart, limb from limb.
They've got THREE YEARS, MAXIMUM, before the game is over. They're going to LOOT the country for all it's worth until then.
Here's another metaphor for how the plutocrats have used the GOP. They ran it the way the gangsters ran the restaurant in Goodfellas. Now it's time for what gangsters call "the BUST OUT." You've run the restaurant into the ground with money laundering, and now there's only one thing left to do. Burn it to the ground, and collect the insurance money."
