Will this be good for him or will it backfire on him? What do they hope to accomplish? They hated Dubya. This guy is from Dubya's party. Seem's to me that he's not going to be well received. I wonder if there are any protests scheduled against him.

(53,661 posts)And the beauty of hanging out among the rich and dangerous, as opposed to mere polticians who endure the public's abuse, is that you don't get anywhere near them.
The politicians, believe it or not, are much closer to our level and can be taken out by protests. Where Romney is going will be all behind gates and with lots of private security.
Or they'll go offshore on ships where the common folk can't swim out to see them. Private property, and all of that.
As far as it backfiring on him, it won't happen in 'our' media.

(2,307 posts)I know in England he is fund raising and I heard he is watching his pet/wife's MS therapy/investment compete in the olympics. Israel he is fund raising and wants to fortify the Jewish vote by, I think, let he be known he won't hesitate to start a war with Iran. I am not sure about Poland. He wants to look like he knows something about foreign policy.
Remember when Obama was criticized for going over seas? Remember, how the Rethugs hated it when he was cheered? I don't have a problem with Romney going over seas, hell, his money is their why not just live there and stop trying to destroy our country, but I bet those who felt it was SO inappropriate for Obama to do this have no problem with Romney doing this.
Any bets on someone, most likely FOX, saying how presidential he looks?

(25,183 posts)Given that they are old buddies:

clearly Mittens is making a play for the Jewish vote that normally votes Democratic. Seeing how the Jewish voters tried to send a message by voting Repuke for Anthony Weiner's soon-to-be-lost seat, he thinks he's on to something.
What worries me, is that I think he's on to something, too.
