7/24/12: Day of Action in Wisconsin to increase the minimum wage!

The federal minimum wage hasn't been raised in 3 years, and, because minimum wage isn't tied to the cost of living, every year without a raise means inflation is eating away at workers' buying power. If congress had tied minimum wage to inflation in 1968, the minimum wage today would be $10.57.

But instead of addressing the fact that over the last 30 years 80% of the wealth in the U.S. has gone to the richest 1% of the population, politicians and candidates waste time arguing about what already-low tax rate the wealthiest Americans deserve to pay. July 24 we will demand politicians and candidates support legislation that will raise the minimum wage, tie it to inflation, and immediately help the hardest-hit Americans.
