It's very odd that Trump would suddenly sign the tax bill with no fanfare.

He said he would sign it on Jan 2 and was planning a huge ceremony.
Of course he would want to bask in adoration and glory and this would be his first big chance since becoming president.

Then suddenly he quietly signs it without a big party!?

Something very odd is going on here.

One reason he might do this is if he learned that something drastic may happen before Jan 2 so he wanted the law set in stone with his name on it before anything could get in the way.

If his lawyers met with Mueller last night, as was rumored, they might have learned something that caused Trump to suddenly change his plans and forego his triumphal celebration.

He was gonna sign it on Jan 2nd, but Congress isn't officially on recess. This might have risked a pocket veto.

Congress passed a budget deal last night that waved tbe Pay Go rules. The reason he was gonna sign it Jan 2nd was because of Pay Go rules.

With Pay Go out of the way, he signed it today.

And Paygo was the reason not to sign it until January.

For those that missed the explanation of the reason:
Trump may not sign the tax bill until 2018 to avoid a Medicare disaster

We are going to see a sweeping pendulum in the coming weeks, from sycophantic Republican Congresspeople to Captain Louis Renaults.
