Hi everybody! I'm throwing a Shout-Out to the Show-Me Riders in Kansas City!

The Show-Me Riders played Santa Claus and rode through my neighborhood this afternoon. About 10 or 12 riders on horseback and a pickup truck towing a trailer of Givers of Goodwill and gifts rolled through, stopped at each house and offered to drop off stuffed animals and other toys for families with small children, bags of food and dry goods for families that need help and Christmas ornaments made by local children in their crafts classes! They came down my street about 1.30pm but I can only assume that the Show-Me Riders had been out spreading Good Cheer for several hours...

and really miss it. The Plaza was a sight to behold and quite an experience at Christmastime! I flew back in after Thanksgiving, and the plane flew over the Plaza, blazing with its Christmas finery-- a very special memory.

Visited often for the next 10 years or so

But since my mother moved away and I have no family there anymore... haven't gone back.

But someday... Plaza lights, Gates and Sons BBQ, Zarda Dairy for ice cream (if it's still there in Shawnee).
