from China Town or Lake Michigan. But I'm surprised you haven't seen all the long flame fest threads concerning CT and LM. There are some who adore these two and take them at their word. In a way, I don't blame them. They are always promising new indictments or some other pleasant news.

Whatever indictments are issued will happen when the evidence has been prepared and presented to the grand jury, and not before.

The longer this drags on, the more likely it's going to be Fitzmas, part 2.

Nothing will happen beyond the two or three indictments already. No one will be arrested. No one will face a trial. No one will lose his job. Things will go on exactly as before.

And to those who keep on counseling patience, that was exactly what was counseled back when Fitzgerald was doing his thing.

Jeffrey Toobin is right. Mueller will eventually give a report to Congress. And it will all end there.

to think your analysis is correct. Comparing this investigation to watergate and expecting it to take years is wishful thinking. Today's technology guarantees it will be much more expeditious.

"Fresh Air". Apparently I'm the only DUer who listens to that show.

Here's a link to the transcript of the show: https://www.npr.org/2017/12/07/569080957/will-the-mueller-investigation-unearth-a-crime-legal-reporter-says-it-s-complica

It's worth looking at. To listen to the show, go to the website, because I can't just post a link to the audio version.

He's not predicting that the indictments will end with the ones that have already been charged. He discussed several paths that could lead to further indictments, and that was without addressing some key areas that the reporter didn't ask about -- like money laundering.

even though Flynn had multiple, easily documented felonies (for lying to the FBI and omitting payments from Russia on his security clearance forms and failing to file FARA) without getting cooperation from him that could bring down much bigger fish.

That's extremely unlikely. Not with Mueller's history. He brought down Gotti by giving a murderer of 19 people a 5 year sentence, in exchange for helping to bring down Gotti. He's not going to let Flynn off easy.

Toobin is wrong. And this wouldn't be the first time.

Toobin’s statement was that Mueller COULD just issue a report, not that he WILL. Big difference there.

Toobin’s extreme example ignores the fact that Mueller is empowered to charge any crimes he comes across during his investigation. If the Trump admin were a bunch of Boy Scouts, maybe just issuing a report would be justified. But they are knee-deep in crimes going back years, and unraveling it all will take time.

Mueller likes surprise moves. It keeps the major players in a panic, not knowing what’s coming next. But that requires extreme secrecy.

Every indication is that Mueller is methodically charging low-level operatives and using their cooperation to nail bigger fish. He flipped Flynn, for chrissakes. Now that he has records from Deutschebank and other overseas institutions, the bigger picture is coming into view.
