Howard Dean: Trump is running a 'criminal enterprise out of the White House'
By Rebecca Savransky - 12/27/17 08:16 AM EST

Former Democratic National Committee (DNC) chairman Howard Dean said President Trump is "running a criminal enterprise" out of the White House.

During a segment, an MSNBC host said Trump is "constantly vacationing to promote his own properties."

"The promotion is extraordinary, there hasn't been a president in my lifetime that's done anything like this," Dean said in response during the interview.

"In the beginning, the constitutional business about the emoluments clause, which is you're not supposed to take foreign money to influence your policy, it didn't bother me, I thought it was a far-flung argument, I'm not an attorney."

But Dean said it is clear that Trump or his staff are "shaking down foreign governments who have moved their events to his hotel in Washington at somebody's request in order to get favors."

"I think he's running a criminal enterprise out of the White House and I think that's what Bob Mueller's on the track of," Dean said.

The emoluments clause prohibits federal officials from taking payments from foreign governments. Earlier this month, a federal judge dismissed a lawsuit from a liberal watchdog organization arguing Trump had violated the clause.

Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW) filed a lawsuit earlier this year claiming that because Trump has not fully divested from his businesses, he is receiving “cash and favors from foreign governments, through guests and events at his hotels, leases in his buildings, and valuable real estate deals abroad.”

Trump's frequent visits to his own properties have also been viewed harshly by critics and ethics experts, who say it gives his organization free publicity, although the president himself no longer manages the company.

Special counsel Robert Mueller is currently investigating the Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election. Trump has repeatedly denied collusion with Russia and has called the probe a "witch hunt."

It will come down to some very serious point before drumph is removed.

They will never impeach him and I now do not care. That will result in some weak deal where he walks away with his stolen riches and lifetime security.

He needs to be arrested and tried. All his wealth should be confiscated. Same for all the others.

Whether or not he ever had any criminal intent, his need to conceal his business failures made him a sitting duck for the worst mob and Russian oligarchs. He may not know much of anything about his own crimes.

The books he's so desperate to conceal will show us what's really going on.

You know how Trump tweets the same boring, wrong shit out day after day? It has a cumulative effect. So much so that when he doesn't say it, you hear it in your head anyway.

We need to call out the White House as a criminal enterprise three times a day, every day of the week. Keep it up, and keep repeating it until even Trump's dwindling supporters hear "criminal enterprise" when they see a report about the White House or President Trump.

They have been served up on a platter to Putin’s Kremlin. Instead of American crooks we now have Russian criminal Oligarchs. Expect to hear in the coming years “We didn’t know” as many retire to cut losses and possible jail time. To bad Trump was cut loose due to mismanagement better criminal enterprises picked him up and fed the illusion the Trump brand is financial genius.

And the next priority apparently (besides killing health care) could be for Trump to sell the infrastucture program to them and then they will own the country, we can then pay a toll to use the roads.
