A few years ago, they did their autopsy and decided they needed to appeal to more voters. But their message and vision are counter to Christian Values, American Values, or even human decency.

They are a dying political party and they know it. Hence,

Unabashed voter suppression.
Dishonest campaigning.
Using fear and hatred to motivate a bigotted and stupid group of people.
Suppressing education in order to have bigotted and stupid people in greater numbers.
Colluding with Russian Gangsters to get votes.
Shameless self-enrichment and pandering to rich by robbing the American People.

Make no mistake, the GOP is dying. And because it is dying it is shameless, corrupt, and very, very dangerous.

With the way the country is set up with the 2 party system they will always be relevant. People are stupid and have short term memories. They will forget how bad the Trump presidency was after a Dem is in office for 8 years much like they forgot how bad Bush 2's presidency was.

Now they control all 3 branches of Federal Government and dominate at the State and local level.

If Dems take control in 2020 like we all expect and hope, they need to have the courage and foresight to nail the coffin and not try to "play nice".

Statehood for PR an DC, voter rights act restored, citizens united overturned, fairness doctrine reinstated, net neutrality, single payer, card check, DACAx2, path to citizenship, tax fairness overhaul, etc.

Dems did not fight for local elections. We became somewhat complacent. By believing the GOP had died, we failed to protect ourselves from the wounded beast.

GOP campaigns on fear and hatred. Much easier to campaign on fear and hatred than compassion and Christian Values. The GOP appeals to bigots and those with little interest in compassion and coexisting with those not like us. The same playbook the Nazis used.

Obama was honest and tolerant. The GOP lied and played to hatred.

The Trump phenomenon is a wake-up call to America. The beast is wounded, but we must put a dagger through its heart before it destroys our democracy in its craven dying throes.
