A lot of us said exactly this would happen. Attacks on Medicaid, CHIP, the ADA, reducing nursing home regulations, appointing a secretary of education who thinks IDEA should be optional. All of this was warned about, not just by disability rights activists, but by the GOP themselves.

I dunno how many elderly people I talked to who dismissed this as hysterical. I dunno how many special needs parents I talked to who tried to say "Oh all that bad stuff won't happen to me and MY kid. It will only happen to the people who 'deserve it' "

And indeed it is happening to people who very much deserve it because they voted for it.
