White Nationalist Richard Spencers tiki torch rallies in Charlottesville, Virginia, and his distant dream of forming a white ethnostate steal headlines, but his views about womenthat their role in politics be shrunk down to a barely visible place that would be unrecognizable to almost anyone in modern Americais seldom highlighted.

I pressed him on the question again.
I dont necessarily think that thats a great thing, Spencer said of women voting in U.S. elections.
The subject of misogyny in alt-right circles has been well documented, not only in terms of its prevalence in the movement, but as being a fundamental part of why the movement exists in the first place. Angela Nagle, a leftist writer, for example, catalogued the movements journey from frequently apolitical, primarily misogynistic threads on the imageboard site 4chan into the kind of blood and soil racial nationalism embraced by men like Spencer in her book Kill All Normies: Online Culture Wars From 4Chan And Tumblr To Trump And The Alt-Right. But Spencers comment perhaps hints at how he and other alt-right leaders views about women might manifest in terms of actual policy, should they be able to gain direct access to the levers of power.
Spencer declined to explain to me how Americans would choose their leaders without the use of democracy. Nevertheless, his words are likely to draw raised eyebrows from his many critics, which currently span from the left to the center-right. The remark also falls in line with similar comments Spencer has made in the past about the opposite sex, suggesting that the U.S. should be protected from what he views to be the danger of having a female commander-in-chief.
Women should never be allowed to make foreign policy, he wrote about then candidate Hillary Clinton in September of 2016 on Twitter. Its not that theyre weak. To the contrary, their vindictiveness knows no bounds.

Yes, old article yet nothing has changed, now has it? The hatred, disrespect of women from the right has escalated under tRump. When you are a star you can do anything.

(17,491 posts)This miserable excuse for a human being is beneath contempt. The last time he and his ilk came here (Charlottesville) they ran away, like thieves in the night, when just a few protested them. Supreme, huh? Master race, huh? Bullshit.
Words escape me.

One also assumes that Spencer considers himself to be a natural leader, or fuehrer.

(12,448 posts)This is nothing new, but they used to keep this garbage under wraps. Now they're loud and proud about their hatred. All of them are crawling out of the sewers because too many in power approve of their shit.

Back to the sewer boys, you are all so pitifully weak.
