Drump is a dumbass and now everyone on the world stage knows it, except him. How embarrassing.

I started a thread on this article earlier today and ran into some technical difficulties which were only recently corrected. But I didn't want to let this go because I had not seen it anywhere previously until this morning and wanted to pass it on in case there were others who might have missed it also. Drump who professes to be the king of trade deals, is dumber than a doorknob. By the time he's done as president, he won't be able to qualify as a contestant on the show, "Are you smarter than a 5th Grader?" because he obviously is not.

President Donald Trump appeared to know little, if anything, about international trade deals during an exchange with German Chancellor Angela Merkel in March this year. White House officials reportedly characterized the talk as “humiliating.”

The Republican Trump asked Merkel about creating a new, bilateral trade deal between Germany and the U.S., even though, as a member of the European Union, Germany cannot strike such a deal without the other 27 members of the union, according to The New York Times.

Merkel was afraid to fully correct Trump since White House aides told German officials the four-term chancellor had been condescending to Trump during one of their first phone calls.

Instead, Merkel eased into an explanation that an agreement could be reached in concert with the EU.

“So it could be bilateral?” Trump asked Merkel, who nodded, according to those in the meeting. Trump responded: “That’s great.”

Trump then turned to Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross and said: “Wilbur, we’ll negotiate a bilateral trade deal with Europe.”

German officials were reportedly relieved that no incident occurred, but White House officials told The Times they saw the exchange as “humiliating.”

He clearly used it because he thought it made him sound smart.

And he always thinks he's the smartest guy in the room. Stupid people are not lacking in confidence.

rightness. Doubt never enters their minds. This is why they are so dangerous and so reluctant to seek out counsel from other, wiser people. It is a disastrous trait for a world leader to have.

Considering that he knows nothing about international affairs, how in the world could he even consider himself qualified to run?

Take a look at the following excerpt about Senator Roman Hruska, a right-wing Republican from Nebraska, who was defending Richard Nixon's ultimately doomed selection of Harrold Carswell as an Associate Justice on the US Supreme Court:


But it was his defense of President Richard M. Nixon's nominee to the Supreme Court, Judge G. Harrold Carswell of Tallahassee, Fla., that brought him some uncomfortable celebrity in 1970.

Liberal Democrats had mounted a strong campaign against Judge Carswell, a member of the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals in Florida, contending that he was too ''mediocre'' to deserve a seat on the nation's highest court.

When Senator Hruska addressed the Senate in March 1970, speaking on Judge Carswell's behalf, he asked why mediocrity should be a disqualification for high office.

''Even if he were mediocre,'' Mr. Hruska declared, ''there are a lot of mediocre judges and people and lawyers. They are entitled to a little representation, aren't they, and a little chance? We can't have all Brandeises, Frankfurters and Cardozos.''


The Democrats gleefully jumped on Mr. Hruska's argument, reducing it to ''What's wrong with a little mediocrity?''

Mr. Hruska defended his remarks, arguing that the negative reaction had been inspired by hostility to Judge Carswell as a Southerner, not as a mediocrity.

The Carswell nomination was defeated, and the Supreme Court seat went to Harry S. Blackmun.

That he said Germany owed in NATO fees

Merkel had to repeatedly explain that members of NATO do not pay or owe fees

After the meeting they did the traditional press conference and Trump sat with his arms crossed like a 5 year old child.

And then Trump refused to shake her hand
