It takes a 2/3 vote in the senate to convict and if that means "president pelosi" the treasonous rethugs will never do so.

Going to Pelosi in this way would be a huge disaster. Truly huge.

I know you get this and am not saying you don't. People talking about things similar to this use the phrase "impeach" or "removed from office" as if it is just something that happens overnight. That is the tone that is taken. Think about all that would have to happen to remove Trump. If he doesn't resign, it will take a considerable amount of time, even more so if Dems hold the chambers. That process would be beautiful and in our best interest. To then move to Pence would already be bringing us to the next election. The clout they would lose during impeachment would be huge.

We don't want a placeholder as President and that is what this would look like.
