It would be nice if this time we could put down the Democrats Suck Pills so we can send the malicious fascists packing with their tails between their legs.
I am reminded of when I saw Chick Correa and Gary Burton at Chicago Fest some 35 years ago. They were putting on an amazing show but the crowd was expecting Return to Forever. Chick made a comment about how he and Gary were really into it, and it would be nice if the audience was into too.
It's real, real easy to second guess.

(2,275 posts)Everyone I've spoken with keeps saying they are locked in to vote Democratic. Even some Republican-leaning types. It's also pretty clear that the pendulum has been swinging progressive for a decade now. The number of new folks running for office, including huge numbers of women, is exploding. Even more tepid Democrats are letting their voices crack with fervor.
November's election will be like the tidal wave in the director's cut of The Abyss by James Cameron. CRAZY big.
I don't think we even have to worry about people resting on their laurels and assuming they can sit this out. People WANT THE FEELING OF VOTING.

(36,926 posts)You're correct that in a perfect world, everything would be positive and smell of roses. Then there's reality.
Edit: My plan is to pick my favorite candidates and fight like hell for them. Except for Democratic incumbents, don't know who those people will be yet.

And you accuse me of being naive?
DU is not representative of Democrats. Sorry.

(36,926 posts)I probably talk more about politics here than anywhere else. Guess I am a pretty isolated and limited person. I don't think you're naive, just wondered if you have participated in any of the primary "discussions" here.
