Former U.S. Secretary of Housing and Urban Development Julián Castro will launch a political action committee on Tuesday that aims to support Dehmocratic Party efforts to take control of the U.S. House and groom younger candidates.

Castro's PAC, Opportunity First, will have three aims: gaining Democratic control of the House, making headway in state legislatures ahead of the 2021 round of redistricting and electing younger leaders to local office.
To do this, the PAC will have an arm that is more traditional in focus, boosting the campaigns of candidates for the U.S. House of Representatives. The other side will support local, non-federal candidates.

The move marks an expansion into national politics for the former San Antonio mayor. Contenders eyeing presidential runs frequently engage in such activity during midterm campaigns. Supporting candidates around the country is a key way any future presidential candidate builds relationships ahead of a national nomination fight.

well, a smart move. Full article is an interesting read, but I can only post 4 patagraphs.

From Beto O'Rourke wiki page Snip...
Robert Francis "Beto" O'Rourke is an American politician and businessman serving as the U.S. Representative for Texas's 16th congressional district in his native El Paso since 2013. He is a member of the Democratic Party. end snip
I first heard of O'Rourke in March 2017 Atlantic magazine article. I made a mental note to watch for this guy 'cuz I think Cruz is a massive f-ing dangerous a hole. (For the record, I know next to nothing about Texas Dem Politics, I live in Ohio).
