Rosenstein and Wray met with Ryan. Supposedly Ryan then gave the green light to Nunes.
Is that correct?

(58,785 posts)For some here, the big live-or-die-on issue has been whether we have the ACA or single payer.
We're really in the middle of a major battle against a ruthless hard-right plot to take power and destroy the form of government we inherited.

(9,659 posts)of some treatable something because the aca didn't help me and millions like me
I have accepted it for the most part, am happy for those that benefitted and am trying to help battle the repubs
so why o why do you have to keep rubbing it in that some of us ,over 50,just above the help limit are truly screwed?
leave out this line....For some here, the big live-or-die-on issue has been whether we have the ACA or single payer. ...
and you have a powerful inclusive statement but since you included it,it makes me feel you are deliberately trying to divide

(58,785 posts)and I know the name of the disease that will kill me, after more years of decline and suffering, eventually terrible but we'll see if I allow that. At least lack of healthcare would shorten the latter (as intended by today's GOP) considerably. No wonderful new advances in my field available to me either, though.
If this is a perverse indication that reality is breaking through, good. Open wide and embrace. None of us will win by just fighting for what we imagine in our personal conceit is one huge, overriding issue. Healthcare is only one of many things we're at risk of losing to ultraconservative forces.
But we really, really need to worry more about what we leave for the future than for ourselves. I've already watched a generation of rural kids grow up unable to earn even a modest living with a high school degree and unable to pay for college. @$350/credit at the closest state college, Questions, which is something like $1000 per quarter per class, putting even a 1-year certificate out of reach for kids who can't afford to house themselves.
Hillary and the Democratic Party (me!) were committed to increasing the minimum wage and making college affordable. Everyone who didn't vote for that, everyone who badmouthed it through the 2-year campaigns, is every bit as responsible as those who voted for Trump. Realization of guilt is critical if they aren't to do the same thing all over again in 2018 and 2020.

(9,659 posts)you said.... Everyone who didn't vote for that, everyone who badmouthed it through the 2-year campaigns, is every bit as responsible as those who voted for Trump.
I say...those of you who continually divide like minded individuals and bring up the past in such a hurtful and negative way are responsible
there was absolutely no reason to inject single payer into your post...no one is discussing it and now that repubs are in charge medicare will probably be gone as well as the aca being gutted
and btw 2years? wtf now primaries are evil?
you get over yourself

(58,785 posts)defeat the Republicans. If it hurts that pointing out that we lost the nation in 2016 because less than 100,000 left-wing voters in 3 states believed the lies and voted against Hillary, that's probably good. Before this, that bitter truth was completely denied.
As for divisive, there is absolutely nothing anyone could say to me that would hurt me or that keep me from standing with the Democratic Party in order to preserve the nation those who came before left us.
People who vote principle and issues, not group labels and transient heroes, can't be "divided."
Look right. There are your enemies.

(9,659 posts), a multi-partisan group of observers to examine paper ballots from the 2016 President election. That audit of several precincts in Racine County, paid for by the residents themselves, revealed up to 6% of perfectly valid Presidential votes went untallied, thanks to flawed optical scan systems used across the state on Election Night and, in much of the state, even during even during Green Party candidate Jill Stein's attempted "recount". Other wards which tallied by hand instead during that "recount" discovered as many as 30% of valid votes went untallied originally!)

Wisconsin was one of three states, along with Michigan and Pennsylvania, where Green Party candidate Jill Stein had filed for "recounts" and forensic audits of voting systems, after the Clinton Campaign declined to heed the pleas for such an audit by computer scientists and voting systems experts who begged her campaign to do so. Stein's post-election effort was largely stymied by Team Trump and various statutes in each of those states. A statewide tally was allowed to move forward in Wisconsin, however only about half of the state's ballots were hand-counted, as municipalities were allowed to carry out their choice of either manual- or machine-tallied "recounts".

After finding an alarming number of uncounted ballots in Racine County precincts during last year's machine "recount" (see documentary filmmaker Lulu Friesdat's alarming coverage of election officials refusing to hand-tally clearly valid votes there during Stein's attempted "recount" the volunteers at WIE filed, and paid for, a public records request to examine the hand-marked paper ballots in a number of those wards.
Recently, they were allowed to review those ballots and, as they feared, many perfectly valid votes had gone uncounted by the optical-scan

(58,785 posts)that critical number moved to the Green Party, alone, to vote for Jill Stein and that repellent "VP" she finally found who'd let her use his name. Some of those voters were just plain nuts, of course, but please don't call that principled behavior on the part of those competent to make decisions.
Then there are those who enjoyed indulging themselves in Crooked Hillary derangement, those who decided to continue farther right to vote for Trump because the Democrats "didn't represent them, too crooked, and, of course, those who didn't vote at all because the Democrats were too crooked.
Sad, all right. Though HE doesn't think so, of course.

Justice isnt just handing the documents to Nunes, but he is free to go to the DOJ to look at them in their SCIF. Presumably after that, Nunes will take an Uber to the DOJ to breathlessly tell the DOJ the secret classified information the DOJ just told him about the DOJ, because that is how Devin Nunes do.
Justice also has given Nunes a green light to continue his witch hunt against Justice, giving him permission to interview all kinds of FBI officials Nunes believes are part of Hillarys secret Deep State cabal, including known sexters Peter Strzok and Lisa Page. Safe to say at this point, the House Intelligence Committees probe into Trump and Russia is over, for all practical purposes.
