Trump World frustrated, angry over new book

Trump World frustrated, angry over new book
BY JORDAN FABIAN - 01/05/18 04:56 PM EST

Allies of President Trump are aghast at the damage caused by a new book that paints a picture of a chaotic, dysfunctional and incompetent early months of the Trump administration.

Former Trump campaign adviser Barry Bennett was taken aback by the contempt some staff reportedly have for the president. “Fire and Fury” portrayed aides going to great lengths to hold back ridicule or scorn when Trump has his “wackadoo moments.”

The controversy squelched any chance for Trump to seize momentum heading into the New Year, when he hoped the sweeping GOP tax law successfully passed in December would give a boost to his other legislative priorities.

Instead, the book turned the White House into a three-ring circus.

1. I don't think there is anything in the book that is particularly shocking

Because much of it played out in public.

I just got through the part that talks about Trump's January 21 visit to the CIA and his bizarre, rambling speech. It just seems like everyone braces for the wackadoo moment of the day. Because it's pretty much every day.

may have missed. I can only take it is small doses because the people, Kellyanne, Spicer, Bannon, et al and most of all Drumpf, make my stomach churn.

may just be a squirrel to distract from what GOP is doing this weekend. Fire and Fury attracts a lot of attention, but we need to watch what is being done. The book does not present an existential threat to Trump. Mueller does. If Jeff Sessions is replaced, it clears the way for a new AG who would not be recused from Russia Investigation. Mueller could be sabotaged or fired. GOP is complicit in collusion and Russian money enough that they will confirm a new AG and attempt to squash any controversy about it.

I hope and believe that Mueller has a plan in place if this happens. Still, this whole book episode may just be a smoke screen for what GOP is really doing.

There is NOTHING that "we" can do about what is going on at Camp David unless you propose some "overthrow" of the place.

I think it is silly for folks to keep suggesting that an incident here and an incident there somehow "distracts" from the nefarious planning and destruction that EVERYONE knows is going on. All we can do is make sure people get registered to vote, have everything they need TO vote (and if that means "voter id" bullshit then so be it), and get them to the polls TO VOTE.

With enough numbers at the polls this coming year, it will be more difficult for them to cheat and manufacture votes. They can only do that when it is close, like they did in 2016. And if we can take back a congressional chamber, WE will be the chairs of the committees and can control the agenda.

Maybe just helps me to vent. Of course, you are right about voting being the most important thing. It always has been and perhaps Dems became complacent and not motivated.

Still, trying to understand what GOP is doing and how they are trying to cover it up seems germane. GOP dishonesty can be a good motivating factor when trying to convince people how important their vote is.

the same thing: pay attention to what they do, not what they say. The 'important' meeting today included everyone in Trump's inner circle. Except Sessions.

There's no way Trump is going down without inflicting damage to as many people and institutions as possible. The man has no dignity; he's proven this again and again. And he and his enablers certainly have no regard for the country or its people.

Like you, I hope Mueller has played this scenario out and is several steps ahead. Because Winter Has Cometh and the next few months will be very dicey.

7. Wrong...The White House is a "three ring circus" and has been since Trump arrived.

All the book does is explain clearly exactly how Trump has quickly turned The White House into that circus.
Through his tweeting and behaviors. It wasn't the book that did it, it was Trump that did it.
