This is just a scheme to flatter Trump knowing all along, they would have to cut jobs do to major loses in their Direct TV division due to heavy Cancelations which will peak sometime in April and May.

But I agree with your point, it is not the norm for most workers, particularly low wage and government workers.

It’s funny how AT&T was so quick to loudly pat itself on the back for giving bonuses and pretending that it was due to the tax cut when it really was a pre-negotiated raise with an employee union. Yet the news of the layoffs went very quietly. It’s almost like they know they’ve done something that wouldn’t look good?

It turns out it wasn’t the giant scam that caused AT&T to suddenly write extra checks. It was a union—Communications Works of America—who made it possible.

Why would AT&T lie about something that could be easily debunked? Some suspect it’s to curry favor with our narcissistic president who is far too easily swayed by praise

Unfortunately, Trump and the rest of the GOP has normalized this type of doublespeak to line their pockets while wrecking mental and financial havoc on regular Americans.

Particularly bullshit is that these bonuses were actually due to union negotiations (according to folks above), but framed to glorify Trumpfenfuhrer/GOP (if true, yet AGAIN, that was some GREAT REPORTAGE, Corporate Whor ... Errrrr ... Media!)

That said, lets not run off too half-cocked here. How many '1000s' are we talking about here that are getting laid off?

If it's 50K+ then it's a major story.

If it's 2K ... it's not so much.

And if we run off willy-nilly decrying to all our FB and Twitter friends of this great evil ... we're riskinglooking like idiots if the facts don't bear out our rant. And Dog knows, the 'facts' are SUPER IMPORTANT to wingnuts ... on the very rare occasion that they back THEIR version of reality.

EVERYTHING nowadays needs to parsed with an eye towards 'bullshit', even the stuff we feel like 'helps our cause' ... and yeah, even when coming from 'people we normally trust' ... like Eichenwald.

It's a tweet, not an expose, folks.
