They are able to be very blunt and quickly cut through the bullshit because of their humor.

4. She's an excellent figure on our side. I've only dabbled, because she's exhausting.

Especially her Tweets. I had her on a Twitter List with others of the best (PIERCE, BOROWITZ, et al.) and her tweets outnumbered everybody and were non-stop. Moved her to a different List that I don't use so much.

I was wary when she went through some kind of religious conversion, but didn't notice that her political pov changed.

Bill Maher but she has always been announced as being from MTV News. A just did a Wikipedia search of Wonkette and made the connection. I have to discover things like this myself (like how I am learning how to use my touchscreen tablet...trial and error). I was always too busy working 50+ hour weeks, elementary school teacher, until a few years ago when I got sick and had to stop. Now I have some time to "catch up" on things. I just donated to their site. I have never read them as a source on DU though so I questioned its legitimacy.

She left in 2006. Gawker sold it to Ken Layne in 2008. Ken Layne sold it to Rebecca Schoenkopf in 2012 and she has owned it ever since.

Yes, there’s a definite presentational style for humorous effect, but everything is well sourced. I wouldn’t send a low information friend there, but someone who really hates Republicans should get a kick out of it.

9. I hope Rosenstein and Comey were working a long game, fully prepared

for the possibility that DT would fire Comey.

It was actually a good thing that Rosenstein kept the original letter, because that meant it wasn't destroyed and it was available for evidence. And by agreeing to write the memo, he kept himself in DT's good graces. When Comey was fired, Rosenstein almost instantly had Mueller in place and ready to go. I don't think that was just good luck. I think that was the result of planning.

The Lawfare writer suggests two possibilities to consider: that Mueller isn't yet investigating Trump for obstruction, which would mean Rosenstein had no reason to recuse -- YET. Or that Rosenstein has recused on the obstruction issue without making it public, and turned that part of the investigation over to Rachel Brand.

I have had a feeling that Rosenstein has been doing as much as possible to keep himself in a position to protect the Mueller investigation.
