i remember a couple nights that the chi sox asked all their fans to wear black, and it was an amazing sight to me. the pics on the front page of the paper seemed to defy physics, the way they sucked in the light.
i think it will be remembered.

He has been accused for many years of being the worst of the sexually abusive actors of that generation, even allegedly involved in rape and murder. Although most gave the fragile old guy a standing ovation, I saw a few solemn faces on ppl who did not applaud, and the applause was quite subdued, nothing like for Carol Burnett.
