Can Oprah announce she's running for something before we attack her ?

What has she ever done to us ?

I find the speculation about her running far fetched but so be it. She seems like a kind, empathetic, and thoughtful person. There seems to be a paucity of those attributes these days.

Thank you.

Can the fact that she so articulately and forcefully supported women last night be a mere coincidence?

While there is a case to be made for wanting to go back to a more traditional path to the WH--i.e., those who actually LEARN the craft of governance prior to running for the highest office, I do find it scurrilous and frankly ridiculous, to be conflating OPRAH with TRUMP--as many are doing here. And, I say to them: "have you lost your f'king minds?

It’s a counter to the eager speculation that she might run, which also didn’t wait until she announced anything.

the last thing we need is another inexperienced celebrity in the Oval. True, she'd probably surround herself with people who are more like-minded to us, but I want someone who actually understands what government is, and further, how to DO it successfully. She's a media personality and business person, but a government expert, she ain't! As impossible as it's been to get tRump to separate from his business interests, I don't see how she'd be any more likely to completely step away from the empire she's (legitimately) built. If it were any other celebrity, left, right, or center, I'd feel exactly the same way.

Anyone announced or proposed is going to be torn apart.

That said, we need pros to run, not vanity candidates, CEOs, or celebs.

that if "the People" wanted Winfrey to run, then she would run. The resistance on this thread is just showing that if Oprah were consistent with her position, she won't run. (I know, it's circular reasoning . . . . )

"It's up to the people," Winfrey's longtime partner, Stedman Graham, told The Times. "She would absolutely do it."

And not with a billionaire TV personality currently driving this country into a massive toilet, day by day.

Democrats need to opt for experienced political leadership as a non-negotiable requirement for the presidency. Let Oprah do some genuine good and put some of her vast fortune in support of a for-real Democratic candidate in 2020.
