TRUMP: A TRUE STORY

The lawyer gave Donald Trump a note, written in Trump’s own handwriting. He asked Trump to read it aloud.

Trump may not have realized it yet, but he had walked into a trap.

“Peter, you’re a real loser,” Trump began reading.

The mogul had sent the note to a reporter, objecting to a story that said Trump owned a “small minority stake” in a Manhattan real estate project. Trump insisted that the word “small” was incorrect. Trump continued reading: “I wrote, ‘Is 50 percent small?’?”

“This [note] was intended to indicate that you had a 50 percent stake in the project, correct?” said the lawyer.

“That’s correct,” Trump said.

For the first of many times that day, Trump was about to be caught saying something that wasn’t true.

LAWYER: Mr. Trump, do you own 30 percent or 50 percent of the limited partnership?
TRUMP: I own 30 percent.

It was a mid-December morning in 2007 — the start of an interrogation unlike anything else in the public record of Trump’s life.

Trump had brought it on himself. He had sued a reporter, accusing him of being reckless and dishonest in a book that raised questions about Trump’s net worth. The reporter’s attorneys turned the tables and brought Trump in for a deposition.

For two straight days, they asked Trump question after question that touched on the same theme: Trump’s honesty.

The lawyers confronted the mogul with his past statements — and with his company’s internal documents, which often showed those statements had been incorrect or invented. The lawyers were relentless. Trump, the bigger-than-life mogul, was vulnerable — cornered, out-prepared and under oath.

Thirty times, they caught him.

Trump had misstated sales at his condo buildings. Inflated the price of membership at one of his golf clubs. Overstated the depth of his past debts and the number of his employees.

in cheating, hurting and humiliating, and at the same time needs to be loved by those same people. He's not insane, he's capable of understanding right and wrong when forced to. He is mean, petty, bigoted and spiteful, he probably is without conscience, or only a primitive one, without scruples, and devoid of empathy. He frequently gleefully and arrogantly breaks the law. He should have seen the inside of a penitentiary long ago.

But to me admitting obvious, though not publicly diagnosed mental disorder is not excusing him, just respecting reality. All the stern righteousness in the world won't make this flawed fraction of a man into a whole person. And imagining he is is to diminish humanity.

Just imo.

The fact that he is so utterly incapable of satisfaction outside of harming others is a small, petty consolation to be sure; however, there is a kind of karmic retribution at play when the man who claims to be worth BILLIONS noshes down McDonald's, alone, in a separate bedroom from his wife and family, fuming and raging at the world and gaining absolutely zero sense of accomplishment or satisfaction or promoting no real tangible agenda for his legacy.

He is miserable and chasing the validation that he so clearly never received as a child.

Good.

I hope it haunts you every day of your remaining miserable life, you gigantic slice of orange asshat. Suffer and wallow and FUCK TRUMP!!!

The publishers know this would never happen because he wouldn't open himself up to a deposition where he literally couldn't tell the truth. One - his lips would have to move and that would immediately put him in jeopardy, 2 - I don't know if he even knows the difference between his lies and reality.

I always felt W got elected for the same reason...easily led...go along with anything they suggested. Remember Cheney in the early days? I think W caught on, but his reputation (what little he had) was ruined by then.

This is why Ryan and McConnell cannot be missed when they gather up the indictments and fill those orange coveralls.

Not a single word of truth ever falls off that lying tongue of his. Whether it’s obsessing about his diminutive hands, or bullshitting about his grandiose “plans.”

#45 simply CANNOT tell the truth; he does not even value truth (or the fact-based world that functions outside his immediate sphere).

#45 is an extremely disturbed individual and should be removed from office. The president’s FIRST job is to keep ALL Americans safe. Clearly, this man is incapable of that.
