Her "cluelessness" may very well be attributed to a perverse and exploitive relationship with Daddy in which she's romanticized her role and her potential to become someone of importance-- in the image of her father.

As with all of us, it's her adult responsibility to examine and address issues from childhood that affect her present functioning. Most people can address those issues with varying degrees of success. Ivanka's no different, aside from the fact that she has as lot more resources to hide her dysfunction if she so chooses.

Trumpy, remember, has no scruples. His quotes about Ivanka from many years ago shows that his moral compass has never worked. That he'd willingly abuse Ivanka is not out of the realm of possibilities. (Recall his interviews with Howard Stern.) And Ivanka, if victimized, would be the last person to expose the events that changed her life forever. Trumpy, as we can all perceive, is abusive in every way possible because every interaction he has is all about HIM, and he cannot indulge in a moment of empathy without having one shameful decision after another cascading into his consciousness. It would be overwhelming to him and completely debilitating. So Ivanka and anyone else within his domain of abuse, including his sons, just have to put up with his abuse or lose their inheritance. Ivanka would have to sacrifice "too much" were she to tell the truth about her Daddy.

But she cannot do it.

Privilege allows her the luxury of using countless resources to hide any PTS to which she may have been subjected. But her privilege also doesn't exempt her from personal responsibility in the (likely) event that she is/was a trauma victim at the hands of her monstrous father.

Because she was subjected to, at a minimum, a father who romanticized sexual involvement with her (see numerous suggestive photographs in which Ivanka, as a young girl and young woman, posed with Daddy in semi-intimate positions), I tend to go easy on her for being "clueless". And Ivanka's fantasy about becoming the first woman president speaks more to Daddy's ability to both use and idealize Ivanka's role and image, of course, for his own aggrandizement, than it does her own ability to dedicate herself to public service.

Her job was to feed his insatiable need for adoration and attention.
And he most likely acted out his sadism with her.
And yes we have evidence, at the minimum, of his sexual fantasies about his daughter.

Yes Trump sees her as a mere extensive of himself, and hence her fantasies of running for president.

All of this is typical of victim bonding with a sociopath/narcissist.
