During a Television Critics Association panel discussion about the upcoming season of the show, Barr faced multiple questions from reporters about her, and her characters, support for Trump.

And, in fact, it was working-class people who elected Trump, so I felt like that was very real and something that needed to be discussed and especially about polarization in the family and people actually hating other people for the way they voted, which I feel is not American, she added.
That is a common myth that is still floating around. In fact, white people of all economic strata voted for Trump. It was more an identity politics move than one based on income, as an excellent feature from The Atlantic outlines. It is ironic, considering how many conservatives criticize identity politics.
When a reporter asked why her character on the show, Roseanne Conner, who spoke out against bigotry, would support Trump, calling him a xenophobe.
Thats your opinion, she said.
He says a lot of crazy shit, she continued. Im not a Trump apologist. There are a lot of things hes done and said that I dont agree with in the same way there are probably a lot of things Hillary Clinton has done and said you dont agree with.
Barr then drifted into conspiracy town, saying she couldnt vote for Clinton because of Haiti, citing the debunked claim that the Clintons raised hundreds of millions of dollars for a hospital in the country that was never built.

(21,646 posts)voted for trump be like yes take the light off us & demonize working class for electing trump even though the sector termed working class includes many POC and more people of that income level voted for Clinton when you include all not just white wc and this kind of narrative paints a misleading picture of the typical Trump voter, and by doing so, lets off the hook an entire class of voters who are at least as responsible for Trumps victory: middle-class and wealthy suburban whites, many college educated who also came out in droves for Trump and who make up a larger part of his coalition .
Get real Roseanne but at least she will portray an enthusiastic female trump fan which in myth is also not suppose to exist . The womenz were all forced begrudgingly to vote for him or something..
