President Oprah would just prolong the countrys economic dysfunction

Oprah gives a great speech at an award show, and suddenly she is ready to be president of the United States. President Oprah is not the answer to neither the country's dysfunction or its systemic economic problems and here is why.

Or are trashing her.

Both are ignorant positions to take.

Has Trump delivered single-payer yet?

And that the endorsement of such bullshit quite understandably calls her judgment into question.

It’s not like she is running for President.

I appreciate the gift you gave me today. I’m still smiling at one of your sentences from a different Oprah op. Probably one of the best sentences I have ever read on DU.

And your failure to understand what is unmistakably clear is not my concern.

Oprah is the vocal figurehead of a billion dollar media empire, and she has catapulted anti-vax and alt-med bullshit for the sake of her continuing profit. In doing so she is a source of harm whether or not she seeks public office.

I have called out numerous celebrities for their endorsement of bullshit, and I will continue to do so even if you continue not to have a clue.

Oprah will go to someone with answers maybe she doesn't have. And, I'm sure she would have an exceptional vice president that she would listen to.
Nobody comes in to the White House with all the answers.

Besides, if she throws her hat in - then we'll all look at the field and see where to throw our support.

Until then, it's all theoretical. The only thing that isn't theoretical is the idiot-in-chief in our WH. Anyone that replaces him is okay by me.

All of this concern about Oprah seems a bit premature. And for all of her lack of political experience I prefer her to at least two of the people expected to run.

..things that the right said about Trump, only now it's them talking about Oprah "Hiring the right people" or "Being an outsider" or "Listening to the right people" is seriously one of the most disheartening and pathetic things I've experienced in my 17 years on this board. And that's saying a lot.

Not one of them raises a single policy issue that she has come out for, a single solitary stance she has taken on any position important to the Democratic party, and far too many of them let her off with a pass for being one of the most broad reaching snake oil salesman of the past 30 years. The most I've heard is that "She supported Obama and Hillary for President!" Oh really? And what else? She also sidled up with Chris Christie and Mark Zuckerberg to promote charter schools.

I'm hoping this is all just mindless internet chatter and I would hope that she has the sense not to do this and to use her money and name and power in a much better and more direct way. But I'm not going to hold my breath on any of that from someone who for years has been publishing a magazine named after her, with her on the cover.

Also, I thought we were against people who weren't registered Democrats running as Democrats? Or is that just certain people?
