Within a few minutes you will again be reminded of just how far we have fallen.
The same country that elected the shithole raised and elected this intellectual gentleman to lead us.
President Obama isn't just where we came from it is where we will be returning to.

(53,061 posts)actually interesting see Letterman take account and ask himself "Why didn't I do more?". Quite a lot about the Selma March, Letterman can barely talk at the end.

(15,555 posts)was weeping at the end, and I don't cry easily. I'm trying to process why I was weeping - was it because of how terribly he and his family were treated by certain factions of our country? Was it because of what we had with the Obama family and what we have now and how we could sink so low in such a short time? Was it because I'm afraid we'll never get our country back in my lifetime? Was it because I'm old enough to remember Selma?
Probably all of those things. The United States had an amazing opportunity when he was our leader and this country as a whole didn't allow him to accomplish all that he could have. What a shame.
