Joy Reid is personally incensed over Trumpy's racist comments, and she has a right to be incensed. But indulging in her own animus toward Trumpy should not be her job on the air. She doesn't need to hoist her own flag by degrading Trumpy's apologists. Yes, we should know how the apologists use rhetoric to promote ambivalence and distractions, but those tactics should be addressed as metacommunicative news items rather than have them be indirectly addressed by slamming apologists.

Let's have a better discussion of what the Dems want to do to create a more compassionate, equitable set of policies that address urgent national needs.
