(11,175 posts)I see the display ads on DU. Next to the OP in this thread, the advertising algorithm placed an ad for ... hearing aids.
Instead of paying for online ads, perhaps the company should be mailing brochures to certain Senatorial offices.

(1,278 posts)As I have seen this, the advertising algorithms aren't generally this good in practice.

(6,486 posts)Cotton and Perdue are doing worse than the usual Republican "don't recall" bull puckey. Think about it and read between the lines:
Normally, if you hear someone say something outrageous, you'd remember it, right? But also, if you truly consider something outrageous and you don't remember them saying it, then you'd know they didn't say it in your presence because it they had, you know that you'd notice and remember. When they say they can't recall, they're basically admitting that they talk and think like that all the time and it's no big deal to them, not even worthy of notice. You might reasonably not recall if they said ordinary words like "morning," "shirt," or "tulip." If they don't recall if he called nations "shithole nations," it's because they consider "shithole nations" to be ordinary conversation like "morning," "shirt," or "tulip."

This is what is going wrong with America, right now. Forget about making America great again but remember to value your neighbors and friends. Have some values/rules and stick by them. We don't ask "other" people about their religion, their race, their sexuality, their gender whatever--you let people be people and don't get into their business. There are no lines to be drawn. You just don't get into other people's business. Ever.
