Which football quarterback should be elected president?

These are all accomplished athletes, so that would easily transfer to being president.

I always loved the Biletnikoff and Branch hook ups. I loved the Steelers Bradshaw years, too. I'm from Chicago and have always enjoyed hard-nosed play and talent. The old guys are hurting, though. The NFL needs to take care of them and protect the new kids.

then. And the Steelers and Raiders used to battle.

I wonder if the "immaculate reception" would've been called a catch today?

Check that, probably so. The league always rules against the Raiders
'cause Al Davis sued them so much (tuck rule game).

He was also a big force in raising funds for rebuilding LA after Katrina and was a big critic of W. He focused on homeless shelters, food banks, and schools.

Here is a Town Hall column praising Bree's for his comments on the anthem. As someone who served in a war zone I get tired of hearing too many people fought and died for the flag therefore we must honor. Standing or not standing doesn't do anything for me.

It's not the plays where your head is "bashed," but every casual bit of contact, including those too minor to even notice. If CTE is as easy to accrue as some of these people portray, then everyone who goes through a normal active childhood with or without football is at danger from it.

because there are far too many unknowns with the disease right now. Rates of incidence in the public at large, susceptibility and sensitivity to it aren't known whatsoever since the only surefire detection right now is via postmortem inspection.

The NFL is covering their wealthy asses against potential future litigation. That's at the advice of attorneys, not doctors.

There is also a difference in the way CTE has been reported and the fervor with which news and rumor is disseminated. Some of it is factually based in the limited evidence that exists. Some of it is intended to raise eyebrows and draw readers. Some of it borders on salacious hysteria.

The most wild-eyed of the opinions I've seen expressed would have you believe CTE is so easy to acquire that literally millions of Americans are walking around with it right now. That disservice will inure the public to the realities of what is eventually discovered.

The reality of the situation is going to be difficult to assess and understand until we can develop tests that detect CTE in all its stages in a living brain and do extensive surveys of athletes in numerous sports at various times in their athletic careers.

"Alabama went into halftime of the national championship game trailing Georgia by 13 points, but a switch to Tua Tagovailoa, a true freshman, at quarterback proved prophetic as he led them to a shocking 26-23 victory in overtime, throwing a 41-yard pass to DeVonta Smith to seal the win."
