I'm not quite jaded enough to believe that none of the Republicans present would have let the remarks pass without, at some point, likely privately, having said something to Trump or his handlers.

I think Lindsey and Durbin both thought it would just be a meeting between the 3 of them, and tRump dragged all the other repukes into the meeting
