White House: Hawaii false alarm 'purely a state exercise'

WTF is this supposed to mean. WH is only one saying this ... more lies?

http://thehill.com/homenews/administration/368907-white-house-hawaii-false-alarm-purely-a-state-exercise

The White House said Saturday that President Trump was briefed on the false emergency alert that went out in Hawaii warning of an incoming ballistic missile threat.

"The President has been briefed on the state of Hawaii's emergency management exercise. This was purely a state exercise," White House deputy press secretary Lindsay Walters said in a statement.

A state level civil defense screwup cant trigger anything federally other then a "Wtf are they doing?" Alerts dont travel upwards as states have absolutely no way to detect a launch. If this were a real thing, our missiles would already be in the air before the state alert would have even gone out.

I remember the similar 1971 EBS scare - not fun, and even though we were a hair's breadth away from a SAC base, it was still far less likely than an attack on Hawaii today.

Hawaii Gov. David Ige says it was

human error
that caused an alert to go out a few hours ago to television, radio and cell phones in Hawaii: "BALLISTIC MISSILE THREAT INBOUND TO HAWAII. SEEK IMMEDIATE SHELTER. THIS IS NOT A DRILL."

The alert went out shortly after 8 a.m. Hawaii time. The Hawaii Office of Emergency Management announced that it was a false alarm around ten minutes later, and a followup alert was sent to residents around 45 minutes later: "There is no missile threat or danger to the state of Hawaii. Repeat. False alarm."

Trump didn't need to act presidential if those duties bored him too much, he just needed to look like a regular person and express some empathy towards his fellow Americans.
