Saw "The Post" today. Highly recommended.

I don't usually go to the movies unless they're "event" movies -- something that needs to be seen on the big screen to be fully appreciated. But my wife and I were bored and had heard good thing about it, so...

Anyway, it was excellent. No action, except for the opening Vietnam War scenes, but it was absolutely riveting. Well acted, well written, and I totally loved how it subtilely (or maybe not-so-subtilely) tied the Daniel Elsberg events into our current times. Fascinating movie. Go see!

Really, really liked it a lot. This movie should get a lot of Oscar nominations, and win.

the men's clothing and hairdos were more 1961 than 1971....so that was off. And there was NO score. I wish it had been more Elsberg and less Kay. This will never win best picture...too many other better contenders.

I don't like score that manipulates emotions probably why I like the Wire.

I am the same way...if an accent or a period is wrong it diminishes the movie. Yikes how can they obviously be wrong on these details you mention??? What a mistake

Having worked in many press rooms in my younger days, I had to laugh at the guys hand-tying bundles of newspapers as they came off the line.

There were a few other silly mistakes, but overall they did a pretty good job of making it look authentic.

As did David Cross and Bradley Whitford. Streep and Hanks will get Oscar nods.

I'm a big fan of his. It was funny seeing him and Cross together like that, kind of a Mr. Show reunion.

I agree. Did you get the feeling at the end that we might be looking at a Watergate sequel?

I highly recommend it for everyone! I already have plans with another friend to go see it again on January 27th. It was just as good as All the Presidents Men!
