Remember how people laughed at Marilyn Quayle when she announced her idea

for a good area to concentrate on as Second Lady? It was basically the Civil Preparedness and readiness of the nation in the face of disasters. I thought it was an odd choice then ---- but not today.

Plenty of other things to chuckle about - her choice of husband for example.

I remember her offering this as a worthy project. She never pursued it after actually becoming "Second Lady" during GHW years.
