After years living in the U.S. for 30 years, a 39-year-old immigrant in metro Detroit was deported this morning to Mexico. Escorted by ICE agents, he said bye to wife and 2 kids before boarding. He was brought to US from Mexico when he was 10-yrs-old, too old to qualify for DACA:

"Stop Separating Families," read signs from supporters of Jorge as he prepares to board flight for Mexico in a deportation by ICE, part of crackdown by Trump administration:

This poor family. What a horrible thing to do to a person who has committed no offense.

If only we could send the president in his place.

if most Americans knew this was happening they would be outraged. It is un-American and inhuman.

Every Congresscritter not fighting this has to have it thrown into his of her face.

to a family - to a person - who has done NOTHING WRONG except be from a country that Donald Trump considers to be a "shit-hole"! God, I could just spit nails right now. This is so terribly wrong and Trump and the republicans need to be stopped!

Registry Date
Aliens who have continuously resided in the United States since January 1, 1972, are of good moral character, and are not inadmissible, are eligible to adjust to legal permanent resident status under the registry provision. Before the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986 amended the date, aliens had to have been in the country continuously since June 30, 1948, to qualify.

https://www.uscis.gov/tools/glossary/registry-date

There was a proposal to make it in 1986 (after the amnesty date) around 2000 but 911 happened and nothing positive could be passed after that.

At this point, it should be about 1990.

“Emotional goodbye at Michigan airport as woman deported after 30 years in U.S.”

After 30 years in the U.S., where she raised three children, worked and paid taxes in Sterling Heights, Zahrija Purovic, 50, was put on a plane and sent to Montenegro on Thursday.

Despite no criminal record and a pending motion for a stay of removal in federal appeals court, immigration authorities ordered her to pack her belongings, purchase a plane ticket and appear at Detroit Metro Airport.

Upon arriving with family members and friends around 4 p.m. Thursday, two ICE agents told Purovic that she had not been granted a stay, and escorted her to her flight.

During an emotional goodbye, a friend of 16 years collapsed to the floor while hugging Purovic. After regaining consciousness, the woman asked the ICE agents if they could say one last goodbye.

"No," the agent said, and escorted Purovic to her gate.

The executive branch directs ICE. Under Obama, the criminals were deported. Under Trump the jaywalkers are getting deported.

Do they stick him on a plane with a one way ticket and just dump him at the airport? Where will he go? Where will he live? How will he make a living?

This is truly sick.

The criminals in #45's cabinet (De Vos, Mnuchin....) are the ones who should be deported.
