Republicans who support or vote for Trump want the races to be desegregated just like in the 1950's. There is a reason for gated communities in the 21st century. Many major cities have large gated communities. Like a country club you have to be eligible to get in. That means huge amounts of money.
Nothing has changed since the 1950's really. In many ways things are the same. In Longmont, Colorado there has been a push by a church to create a development that encourages only Christians to buy homes built by a church development group. The aim was to create a CHRISTIAN community with a RW church as its center.

(12,265 posts)I am not, there is a faction of this country who are just plain evil, always have been always will be. Trump has given them permission to come out from under their rocks and gated communities and speak their racist nonsense. Many are afraid of them because they claim to be armed, I think we just need to push back like we always have. No fear.

I think you meant to write, "Republicans who support or vote for Trump want the races to be segregated just like in the 1950's."
I lived through the desegregation that went on back then, starting with Brown vs. Board of Education ruling that "separate but equal" schools were anything but equal, and continued through the rise of the busing of students to achieve integration, and the so-called "White Flight", migration of Caucasians from the large cities to the burgeoning suburbs. I was just a child but I COULD NOT understand why my friend Cynthia was not welcome in my parent's home.
