First bird pic from our property in over a year....do you know what this is?


Extra credit for naming the sex too.

Marta first saw it sitting in a squirrel feeder about an hour ago. I'll have a cold weather bird post later.

a rounded tail, while this fine specimen has a squared-off tail. Look at the Cooper’s pictures in the posts above to see the difference.

more of a cap on the Cooper's, but extends down to meet the back on a sharp-shinned. That, along with the tail and the size, leads me to vote sharp-shinned...
