"... which “doubled down” on demand he not answer questions."

How is this not some sort of Contempt of Congress? or Obstruction of Justice?

The biggest takeaway from today's testimony from #SteveBannon is the interference from the @WhiteHouse.
If Bannon was marginal as Trump has claimed, then why is he asserting Bannon must invoke Executive Privilege?
It can't be both.

He didn’t invoke executive privilege. He just refused to talk because the WH didn’t want him to.

And even if he screamed the phrase “executive privilege” until his scarred liver popped out of his throat, it wouldn’t apply to anything before inauguration, because Trump wasn’t the Executive.

Congressional Republicans are craven opportunists to a frightening degree.

My other thought is that everyone in the WH knows that Pence and Manafort talked daily on the phone after Manafort was fired — and that no one seemed to realize Manafort was under a surveillance warrant. So everything he said to Pence was recorded and no one wants to perjur themselves any further.

is that the Rugnant Chair issued the subpoena. That's a first.

The Regnants were obviously pissed. If they stick to their guns, the Courts will order Bannon to answer the questions. At that point, he either answers the question or goes to jail.
