Great Lakes folks...how many of you saw that and thought the worst?

Blinding flash of light and sonic boom/rumble of thunder across the region. Apparent meteor over the region just over an hour ago.

Scared me a bit, not going to lie.

I've been inside, and managed to doze off for a short nap, so I didn't see anything. The last time I checked the Facebook police scanner page, there were over 150 comments from people who saw the lights. A lot of them thought it might be 'thunder snow' or transformers were blowing.

...went outside and heard a long, low rumble unlike anything we've ever heard before. No sonic boom, but we're a bit west of where people reported their houses being rattled by it.

It was freaky enough here, I can only imagine what that was like. I actually thought of a nuke before I thought of a meteor.

I've had a couple of really bad, sleepless nights so when I do doze off, even if just briefly, I tend to sleep really hard.

I barely saw it, but the sound was impressive. Didn't realize they could sound like that.

I'm a deep sleeper to, so I hear you there. Thunderstorms, tornado sirens, I sleep right through them.

Funny thing is, back when I actually was able to sleep, at night, I was a pretty light sleeper. But I've had so much trouble sleeping, lately, it's like my body slams right into REM sleep. I can fall asleep for 15 minutes, and dream, the whole time. I guess I chose the wrong 15 minutes, tonight!

I got to see a small meteorite one morning when I was waiting for the bus. It came down in a shower of sparks. There was boom or noise, just a hissing sound and sparks. It dissipated not too far from the ground.

It would have taken me a few minutes to remember that incoming missiles are not gonna be that visible.
