Alabama is going to be one of those places. It was a unique election. Moore was the overwhelming focus. Half of the normal voters Republicans can count on showed up. It wasn’t a referendum on Trump like many of the other races are.

Here is why that framing matters. Sessions is going to win back his seat with close to seventy percent of the vote. Their son is coming home. Will it then show Trumps strength. Of course not. It’s Alabama.

Moore’s initial response did him in with a lot of Republican voters.
