That was a classified hearing, heard in a SCIF, how was the lawyer communicating with the WH during the briefing? Did they give his lawyer a secure line to the WH in the briefing room? Even that doesn’t make sense, a true SCIF has no outside connected listening devices i.e. a phone in them. I’m confused...a closed hearing implies classified, which is always done in a SCIF.

Just an office/conf room somewhere with no press or gallery. Cell phone would do it.

A “closed” intelligence Comm briefing is considered “classified” by definition (why its “closed”) and is always done in the House Intel Comm SCIF.

I mean I get it if it wasn’t classified but anything they would ask someone like Bannon would fall or likely fall into that category and therefore a SCIF would be required.

Plus any closed hearing would preclude access to communication devices in the hearing room traditionally.

I think you're overstating things to get in a dig. "Closed" means inaccessible to the public or press. That's all. "Classified" is in the need to know range where you block telecommunications and such.

Semantics matter, and if we hear later that the session was actually "classified" I will recant.

CNN kept referring to meeting room as a SCIF during their reporting yesterday evening. This was while they were waiting for the hearing to end. They showed the doors to the hearing room while discussing.

The reporters had used the term classified when describing the meeting.

I cannot imagine a closed session to question Bannon about Russian campaign connections and money laundering, among other things, not being “classified” in context.

To be fair we don’t know for sure but I think it’s a fair assumption given the subject matter and witness being interviewed but I will recant if we get a definitive answer.

See, peaceful and pleasant discussion without name calling.
