Speed Limits Mean That IT IS SAFE To Drive Under ALL Conditions.Even On Pure Ice Speed Limit Is Safe

At least It looks like many drivers believe that. It is amazing that people drive the speed limit and more no matter the conditions. In Denver recently was driving in very slippery conditions where the best you should do is 20 miles per hour. Whether the speed limit was 30 MPH or 65MPH people were driving at or near the speed limit in many cases.

If you were driving at a safe speed in treacherous conditions you had to worry about some idiot in coming up from behind at the posted speed limit or more. Some were in 4WD behemoths trucks or SUV's.

I am not kidding the roads only allowed speeds at 20MPH or less they were so slippery. No wonder there are so many multiyear pill ups so often.

street next to us is a two lane main road with speed limit of 45 mph.

People go WAY faster than that all the time and if one of them fucked up and took his or her eyes off the road just long enough they could end up in our living room.

We spend a great deal of time in our living room.

We dont want a 1999 ford mustang plowing into our living room at 65 MPH at 10 PM on a Saturday night, it would totally ruin our weekend.

Unfortunately, plenty of more responsible drivers get taken out in the skid which ultimately lands the selfish hyper-confident mega-SUV driving morons (usually) overturned. Driving that route, usually Ft. Collins to Denver is a constant reminder.

They seem to think that they are invincible and road conditions are immaterial.

I don't get why people drive so fast during the downpour. As most people slow down, some just can't. It causes even more of a problem considering the speed differentials.

I ran into a couple of those type d- bags today in frozen ass Houston. Idiots. Ice on hwy 59 and these morons are swerving lane to lane going way too fast. I was hoping to see some smashed into the median, but no luck.
