A democratic politician in CA is vastly different than a democratic politician in WV

In fact the democrat in WV or some other red state is barely recognizable as a democrat sometimes.

But as a democrat nonetheless, said seat gives OUR party control and power.

Without control, we have NO power, none. Not ONE democratic amendment or bill was voted on in the senate all last year, not ONE, now do you see how important control is? The GOP does not allow anything a democrat proposes to be voted on.

This two party system is NOT complicated nor is learning how the party in power decides

I understand your point of view and acknowledge we’ve muddled through that way.
But why is it wrong to demand and expect more?

I firmly believe a Democrat is a Democrat, no matter what state you are in.

I also believe, despite certain opinions otherwise, than a Democrat can win on Democratic Party planks and values in any state.

If you are a Democrat but think women are second class citizens that shouldn’t have control of their own reproductive healthcare and are willing to enact laws to that effect and/or speak in favor of those type of laws than you are not a Democrat.

If you are a Democrat but think LGBTQ are second class citizens and they shouldn’t have the same rights and privileges as any other American or are willing to enact laws to that effect and/or speak in favor of those type of laws than you are not a Democrat.

If you say you are a Democrat but vote as much with republicans as Democrats, sorry you’re not a Democrat.

If you say you are a Democrat but speak at the Republican National Convention than you’re not a Democrat.
