Since I read a disparaging post

about some on the left for investigating Trump Russian ties, Is this also dubious?

The Headline
Prominent Russian insiders attended Trump inaugural and mingled with administration officials: this is the headline on a Raw story,
I do remember awhile back some here bashing Raw story, but they are just highlighting an article from the Washington post

link to the story

1. Raw Story is an okay source - as you noticed they usually just summarize MSM stories.

But sometimes, as with the WA Post story, the originals are behind pay walls, so it can be useful to read the summaries on Raw Story. Other times I just go straight to the links that Raw Story points to.

Or switch to another browser. Allows you to start over. I use mozilla for regular browsing, and IE for wapo/nyt, this way I can clear cookies easily without worrying about losing tabs open or stored passwords.

Or privacy mode. Whatever your browser calls it. If you rightclick the link and open in that privacy mode in another tab, it should let you read.

8. I don't think that's fair to the WAPost, which is as entitled to sell subscriptions

as any other MSM.

I want it and other good MSM to stay in business, and paying for a subscription is a way of helping make sure they do.

I feel that should cover most bases.

12. Me, too! Well, I don't remember the Guardian having a subscription when I did it last year,

so I donated a sum of money I thought would be equivalent. It IS a good source.

I donated a bunch of money and signed up for a regular payment.
That’s what I do with the other two - monthly CC payments.

3. They're linking to the WaPo. Why would anyone think that's dubious?

Pull up the Rawstory piece that somebody here bashed, and maybe you'll get a discussion.

10. The OP is saying DUers have, in the past, not trusted Rawstory stories.

Not because of "copying" but because of other reasons. I'm asking him/her to be specific.

5. No one disparaged anyone for looking into the Trump/Russia stuff
Sat Jan 20, 2018, 05:09 PM

They were disparaged because they're bad at it and not trustworthy. RAW Story has occasionaly had their problems, but are mostly a news agregate. It's generally a good idea to follow their story back to the primary source if it interests you.
