Leaving aside the point that "Orthodox Christians" are an ancient denomination originating in the Byzantine empire, with very little representation in Congress, only the most old-fashioned of the fundamentalists, along with groups like the Mennonites and Amish, abstain from activity on Sunday. Finally, what makes it nonsense is that Congress has been in session all day, leading up to the late night/early morning vote. If it was because of members' religious beliefs, the Capitol would have remained padlocked all day, and leaders wouldn't have even begun negotiating until Monday.

Given my choice of believing your opinion and analysis with the statements given to me by two members of Congress regarding the impact and control of orthodox Christians on that body, guess who I'm going to believe? In short, it ain't you.

I can’t identify a single Orthodox Christian in the hHouse or Senate. Who are they?

It should read "orthodox Christian;" of which there are many in the Congress.

at the thought of all of those early birds who have to work with a schedule not designed around their sleep cycle.

(The bigger part of me, however, is pissed that I'm pretty sure they are choosing these dead-of-night votes to avoid public scrutiny)

...as my wife is in a "non-essential" government job whose commute requires her to be up at 5:30 A.M. So, she's either going to have to stay up late to find out whether she'll have to report on very little sleep, or she's going to have to get to bed early and wake up before dawn to find out whether she has the day off (without pay, of course).
